History of the Noosa Gift
In October 2010, Little Athletics Noosa established and hosted the inaugural Noosa Gift, a carnival that incorporated both professional sprint races and Little Athletics children’s events.
The goal was to establish a link between our younger local children and teenage athletes, who can aspire to athletic careers that utilise the Queensland Athletics League (QAL) as a catalyst for personal improvement.
QAL registered athletes are generally drawn from aspiring track and beach athletes vying for both State and National selection.
In 2012 the inaugural Primary School One Mile Challenge was run for boys and girls and now features as a regular event at the Gift.
Queensland Little Athletics Centres see a drop off in membership in the teen age groups and this event helps provide continuity and education to our talented local children while giving the professionally registered athletes a carnival in Noosa on the Sunshine Coast.
